The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially unveiled the digital portal for the upcoming Nigeria Youth Conference, also known as the National Youth Confab. This initiative is designed to actively engage young Nigerians in national policy discussions and development efforts.
Announcing the launch on Monday, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, emphasized the significance of the event. He described the confab as “more than just a conference,” calling it “a generational turning point, a national movement, and a call to action.”
The National Youth Confab was first announced by President Bola Tinubu during his Independence Day broadcast on October 1, 2024. Initially scheduled for February 2025, the conference aims to gather youth voices from across the country. However, the formal establishment of a 44-member Planning Committee to oversee the event only took place on March 10 at the State House in Abuja.
Olawande revealed that the theme of the confab is “Next Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future.” He assured that the conference will be “inclusive, non-partisan and youth-led,” ensuring broad representation and active participation.
The newly launched portal will serve as a platform where delegates can register, contribute ideas, and receive real-time updates throughout the duration of the confab. The conference is structured to encourage multi-level participation, including consultations with young Nigerians in the diaspora, youth engagement across all 360 Federal constituencies, zonal meetings in six states, and culminating in a National Conference in Abuja to harmonize recommendations.
More updates on this significant youth engagement initiative will be provided as the event approaches.
