Johnny Depp surprised a group of sick children with cancer at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, Queensland dressed as his famous character, ‘Captain Jack Sparrow‘ from the movie, ‘Pirates if the Caribbean.’

The 52-year-old actor wanted to keep the visit private but it took just a smart phone to get his secret on social media.

He was pictured greeting and hugging a handful of sick children and made sure to play to character’s part to a T. He was also photographed sitting bedside to some of the kids who were too sick to stand.

Captain Jack Sparrow took a break from filming the scenes of Pirates Of The Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales, to lift the spirits of the sick children at the hospital. But left the hospital in a black helicopter.

One patient’s mother, Ms Bennett, told ABC Australia, ”He [Johnny] was going from room to room seeing all the kids who couldn’t get out of bed. We waited out of the front of one of the rooms, and he came up to us and had a really good chat to Max. He was taking his time to make sure he spoke to each and every one of them.”

Ms. Bennett went on to say, “It was really beautiful. Everyone kept on trying to move him on, but he kept on coming back. He came on the condition that he wasn’t pushed along and crowded by adults and he could spend as much time as he wanted with the kids. He was here for the kids.”
