American actor Jonathan Majors has been found guilty of third-degree reckless assault and second-degree harassment against his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

The verdict was delivered on Monday by a six-person jury in New York after four hours of deliberation, as reported by ABC News.

The charges stemmed from an incident earlier in March when Majors was arrested and charged with four counts of assault following an altercation with Jabbari.

The dispute reportedly occurred after Jabbari claimed to have seen a message from another woman on Majors’ phone during a night out.

Jabbari, upon examination, had sustained injuries, including a laceration behind her ear and a fractured finger. The 34-year-old Marvel star pleaded not guilty to the charges and opted not to testify during the trial.

The jury acquitted Majors of two counts of intentional assault and aggravated harassment but found him guilty of one count of third-degree reckless assault and one count of second-degree harassment.

Responding to the verdict, Jabbari’s attorney, Ross Kramer, expressed satisfaction, stating, “Ms. Jabbari testified publicly and truthfully, even though reliving these traumatic events on the witness stand was obviously painful. We are grateful to the jurors and the Judge for their attention and patience, and to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for their hard work and support.

“Ms. Jabbari’s resolve to see this case through to the end demonstrates her tremendous strength and resilience. Unfortunately, for every survivor like Ms. Jabbari who comes forward to hold their abuser accountable, there are many others who believe  that they cannot. We hope that her actions will inspire other survivors to speak their truth and seek justice.”

Majors is scheduled for sentencing on February 6, 2024.
