The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a directive that candidates seeking to obtain their 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results must do so via SMS verification.

This move marks a departure from the previous practice of allowing candidates to view their results online through the JAMB portal.

In a post on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, JAMB responded to a candidate’s query, underscoring that the SMS verification channel is now the exclusive means of accessing the 2024 UTME results.

“Please, be aware that the only way to check the 2024 UTME result is by sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used to generate profile code, no result will be posted online,” the post read.

Here are the key points highlighted by the board:

SMS Verification Mandatory: To retrieve your JAMB results for 2024, you must send an SMS with the command “UTMERESULT” (without quotes) to either 55019 or 66019.

Registered Phone Number Crucial: It is imperative that you use the same phone number you provided during the JAMB profile code generation process. This measure ensures that the results are delivered to the legitimate candidate.

No Online Access Permitted: Contrary to past years, JAMB has made it clear that the 2024 UTME results will not be accessible through their website. The board is exclusively relying on the SMS verification method for this year’s exercise.
