The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a two-week extension for its Direct Entry registration process, allowing candidates more time to complete their registration.

The board’s decision, communicated through its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, aims to accommodate all candidates seeking registration for the Direct Entry examination.

Originally slated to conclude on Thursday, March 28, 2024, the Direct Entry registration commenced on February 28, 2024.

However, following careful consideration, JAMB has extended the registration period until Thursday, April 11, 2024.

“This extension became necessary following the challenges faced by candidates in going through  some of the security screening measures put in place to arrest the rampant and embarrassing cases of fake A’level certificates being paraded by some DE candidates,” the statement read.

“The Board apologises for the inconveniences caused prospective DE candidates and pledges that, going forward, the process would be made more user-friendly.

“However, in doing this, the Board will not compromise on its avowed determination to ensure that  candidates, whose certificates were dubiously acquired are prevented from benefiting from such certificates.

Additionally, the board noted that candidates whose certificate-issuing institutions have failed to verify their credentials despite repeated requests will not be allowed to register without resolving these verification issues.
