The announcement was made in JAMB’s weekly bulletin released on Monday, following a virtual roundtable meeting held on January 24, chaired by Mufutau Bello, JAMB’s director of finance and accounts. The meeting included representatives from participating financial institutions and other stakeholders.

Bello confirmed that UTME registration would close on March 5, 2025, with registration taking place at JAMB-accredited computer-based testing (CBT) centres nationwide.

Important Dates for 2025 UTME and DE

  • Mock UTME Expression of Interest Deadline: February 23, 2025
  • Mock UTME Registration Ends: March 8, 2025
  • Mock UTME Examination: April 5, 2025
  • Main UTME Examination: April 25 to May 5, 2025
  • Direct Entry Sales: March 10 to April 7, 2025

Trial Testing for Underage Candidates

In a major development, JAMB introduced a trial-testing mock examination for underage candidates starting in 2025. According to Bello, this initiative allows candidates who are not yet 16 years old as of September 30, 2025, to gain hands-on experience with the UTME process before they become eligible to officially sit for the exam in the future.

“This window is necessary as any candidate who would not be 16 years old as of 30th September 2025 would not be eligible to sit the 2025 UTME,” Bello explained. “However, they can participate in the mock UTME for experience.”

Application Categories and Costs

Candidates must indicate the type of e-PIN they require at the time of purchase, as refunds will not be granted after payment. JAMB outlined four e-PIN categories for the 2025 registration exercise, as follows:

  1. Mock Only Trial Testing (for underage candidates): N3,500
  2. Direct Entry Application: N5,700
  3. UTME Without Mock: N7,200
  4. UTME With Mock: N8,700

Cost Breakdown

  • UTME/DE JAMB Fee: N3,500
  • Reading Text: N1,000
  • CBT Centre Registration Service Charge: N700
  • CBT Centre UTME Service Charge: N1,500
  • CBT Mock-UTME Service Charge: N1,500
  • Bank Charges: N500

Bello noted that all payments for the registration exercise would be made virtually to ensure efficiency and transparency.
