The Former Vice President said that the media statement credited to the US Department of Justice for not having any record of pending lawsuit in US, has vindicated him.

Atiku through his spokesman, Mr. Paul Ibe, told newsmen in Yola that the allegation of Atiku having pending case was just a fabricated lies by those jittery of his political clout to tarnish his image.

“It’s taken so long for the former VP, Atiku Abubakar to be cleared by the US department of Justice. Make no mistake about it, US will not clear you and say you don’t have a case if you have a case.

“For them to have chosen this time to do what they have done following a media report, is surely a vindication of the former Vice-President.

“He is not on trial, he has no criminal case and has not committed any crime, anywhere-whether in US or in Nigeria”.
Atiku spokesman said that the vindication, coming just as the former vice president was marking his 70th birthday, was an unsolicited birthday gift.

“It is an unsolicited birthday gift for Atiku at his 70th birthday, They stayed long, but the truth is that he has been vindicated” , he said

On those daring Atiku to go to America, Ibe said: “The man cannot travel where he does not need to, he will be a stupid man to do so. The fact remains that if there is need for him to travel to the US, he will do so”.
