Taraba State Police Command, in a joint operation with the military and local hunters, successfully rescued an Israeli national, Mr. Gil Itamar, from kidnappers, okay.ng reports.

According to a statement released by Command Public Relations Officer, James Leshen, Itamar, an SCC Company employee, was abducted on the Takum/Chanchangi road in Atim Community at approximately 9:15 AM. He was being escorted by military personnel at the time. Alhaji Saidu, a colleague, promptly reported the kidnapping to the police.

Responding to the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer of Takum mobilized a joint task force comprising police officers, 67 PMF personnel, military members, and local hunters. A search and rescue operation was initiated, resulting in a gun battle with the kidnappers.

The kidnappers were ultimately overpowered and forced to retreat, abandoning Itamar. He was rescued at Kofai Ahmadu and is currently receiving medical attention at SCC Company’s medical facility in Takum.
