Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has commended Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose and Yoruba social cultural group, Afenifere for their courage to stop the movement of cattle rearers and herdsmen in the state.

The group, however, urged governors of the South-East, politicians and Ohanaeze Ndigbo to borrow a leaf from Fayose and Afenifere and stop grazing in the region.

A statement by the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Mr. Emma Powerful, also alleged a plot to kill its members on Monday, May 30 during its remembrance ceremony in honour of “Biafra heroes” who died during the civil war and during its protests in Onitsha, Aba, Asaba, Owerri, Port Harcourt and Bayelsa.

“Information reaching us, through our intelligence department, indicates that soldiers, police and some Fulani herdsmen in army and police uniforms would be deployed to execute the heinous plan.

“We want to use this medium to let the world know that IPOB, under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, is peaceful, intelligent, educated, well informed and determined to pursue the restoration of Biafra through the non-violent means and stipulated international law and nobody can drag us to become violent,” Powerful stated.
