Apple launched a refresh of the iPad Pro at the WWDC 2017 event. This is the first time the 12.9-inch productivity tablet is getting a hardware update since the original iPad Pro was launched in 2015. iPad Pro (2017) is coming with improved multitasking performance and graphics.

iPad Pro (2017) 12.9-inch Productivity Tablet

Display and Cameras

Though, the display specs looks the same on paper as the earlier model with a 12.9-inch Retina display offering 2732 x 2048 pixels resolution, the technology has been boosted for a better viewing experience. The iPad Pro (2017) offers 600 nits brightness and an anti-reflective coating for a better view outdoors. The display also supports a wider colour gamut and a new ProMotion feature that delivers 120Hz refresh rate.

iPad Pro (2017) like the iPad Pro 10.5 features a 12 megapixels rear camera and a 7 megapixels FaceTime camera. The rear camera sports Optical image stabilisation, a 6-element lens system, quad-LED flash, and 4k video recording.

Hardware and Software

iPad Pro (2017) is coming with more power. A fresh 6-core Apple A10X CPU with a 12-core graphics processor gives the 12.9-inch productivity tablet better at multitasking. According to Apple, the CPU is 30% faster and the GPU is 40% faster. iPad Pro (2017) will be dropping the 32GB storage. The latest iteration will be offering options of 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

iPad Pro (2017) will come with iOS 10 initially, but will be getting the iOS 11 later in the year that will make better use of its hardware. You can now have two active screens at the same time, once you get the iOS 11 update. The new Dock will also provide easy and fast access to frequently used apps.

iPad Pro (2017) supports worldwide LTE in the LTE models with download speeds of up to 450 Mbps.

Pricing & Availability

iPad Pro (2017) launched June 5, 2017 starting at $799 (that’s about 295,000 Naira) for 64GB Wi-Fi model. The cellular model (LTE) starts at $929 (about 345,000 Naira) for the 64GB model.

iPad Pro (2017) is not yet available in Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana, but will go on sale in a couple of coutries next week. When available, iPad Pro (2017) Price in Nigeria should range from 305,000 Naira to 550,000 Naira, depending on your location, built-in storage, and whether cellular or Wi-Fi only.
