The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed August 6, 2016 for the rerun election for the Gulani constituency in Yobe State House of Assembly.

Speaking over the weekend in Damaturu, Yobe State, a candidate for the State House of Assembly, Hon Isah Babayaro, urged politicians in his constituency to shun politics of bitterness during the rerun elections.

He said politics should be played according to the rules in a manner that would promote democracy and bring about meaningful development to the people of his constituency and Yobe State in general.

Isah said that he remains the most qualified to replace Hon Abdullahi Kukuwa who won the election for the House of Representatives to represent Yobe State at the National Assembly.

He stressed that politicians should carry out issues- based campaigns, instead of making hate speeches and mudslinging campaigns capable of causing crisis during rerun election in the state. “I will like to use this medium to assure my people that, I strongly feel that Yobe State needs

The Politician called on colleagues, especially candidates of all political parties in the August 6, rerun to shun violence and embrace peace throughout the electioneering campaign.

Assuring that he” Would provide development projects in his constituency, he advised the people to embrace peace at all times and support government policies in order to move the state forward”.
