INEC Deploys 36, 335 Staff for FCT, Rivers Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will deploy a total of 36, 335 permanent and ad-hoc staff for the conduct of Area council elections in Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as well as the Rivers State rerun polls.

The two elections will hold on March 19.

INEC bulletin released on Wednesday in Abuja said 9,933 of the staff will conduct the FCT elections while 26,402 staff man the rerun elections in Rivers State.

The staff are made up of Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Presiding Officers‎, Supervising Presiding Officers (SPOs); Collation Officers (CO); and Returning Officers (RO).

According to the statement a total of 24, 297 APOs, 33948 POs, 506 SPOs, 403 COs, and 43 ROs will conduct the elections while 1435 will act as Reserves.
