Actress and singer, Cossy Orjiakor has said she has turned a new leaf. She has moved away from what she’s usually known for, that’s boobs flaunting. She said she is now a singer and would act if given a role. The tiny voiced lady had an interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly about her music career, some nude pictures circulating and sundry issues.
You have been maintaining a low profile for quite a while, what has been happening to you?
I had a life before entertainment, I had to return to what I was doing before entertainment. That was why I have not been visible.
So, what were you doing before entertainment?
I was in school for sometime, but now I have my own business that I am running.
Can you tell us the kind of business you are into?
That is under wraps for now. I don’t want to talk about it until the right time. When the right time comes, I will definitely talk about it.
You are now into music, what informed that decision?
I am an entertainer, I just love entertainment. My being in music is for the love of it. I have done a couple of things as an artist, I will soon shoot some videos so that my fans can have a feel of my music.
How has it been as a music act?
It has been fabulous, I have done a couple of things. If you want me, I believe when you want something, you go for it, identify what you want and go for it. I used that to market myself as an artist. I had one I sang a couple of years back, it is only on the internet for now. I am not a good promoter, when I get a good promoter, I will work on some other songs.
It was alleged that one of your songs was to spite a producer’s wife, can you tell us about it and who the producer is?
(Laughs) That one is entitled Everyone wants my body, it is even about the industry, all the things I went through in Nollywood. I have not shot the video of the one you are referring to. The lady I used in the song, Ego had an accident. So, she couldn’t come to the location, that is why I decided to promote another song entirely.
You have not told us who the producer is?
Leave me jo. I have other songs that have nothing to do with anybody. I have one I am working on that has to do with a guy I have a crush on. I want to focus on somebody I like.
It was alleged that you were sexually harassed in Nollywood, is it true. Can you explain?
It depends on what you call sexual harassment. I am a very free minded person, though I don’t like being taken for granted. Even if it happened, I didn’t pay attention to it, so I can’t say I was sexually harassed in Nollywood.
Now that you are into music, does that mean you have quit Nollywood?
No, I am doing a movie with Goriola Hassan. It is a Yoruba movie, I just got a script. I still do movies, as long as I get a script, why not?
Is it true that you flaunted your boobs recently at a beach party?
No, we had a party at La Campagne Tropicana, some of my friends wanted to take my pictures, two ladies and a guy. So, I decided to pose for them. It was quite dark, I posed for them and they took my picture. I posted it on my BB, I don’t see anything wrong with it, life is all about having fun.
Some people even alleged that you were drunk, you were unconscious when you took that picture?
No, I don’t drink. I don’t take alcohol. I don’t smoke as well, the whole tale is not true. I posted the picture myself.
We also learnt you have rebranded from the Cossy everybody used to know?
(Laughs) Yes, that is true, though. It also depends on the Cossy that is coming out. There is Cossy and there is Lady Cossy. Lady Cossy is a rebranded person, corporate lady, looking very good.
What informed the rebranding?
I wouldn’t say that I rebranded, I have this fresh look now. Sometimes, I just want to be different, that is the Lady Cossy, it depends on my mood. I receive invites for very private shows, if they want Lady Cossy or Cossy to come around. If they want Lady Cossy, I dress well, look good and different, if they want Cossy to come around, I wear anything I want.
Many people believe Cossy is a rich lady, that you invest wisely, you are into properties, is it true?
Owning properties does not mean I am very rich. I am just very comfortable on my own. And being a celeb doesn’t stop me from doing whatever I want to do.
We believe Cossy is of a marriageable age, are you not considering settling down or are the right guys not coming?
I am still thinking about it. When I meet the right guy, why not? I will settle down.
You told us that you will sing a song about a guy, isn’t he the right guy?
(Laughs) That I have a sexual attraction to a particular guy does not mean I want to marry the guy. I don’t know when I am settling down but I love to, though I am catching fun right now. It is important to know when you are ready and if he is the right guy. Nowadays, a lot of married men are abusing their spouses, so one needs to be careful.
Will you say you have found that particular guy?
My dear please, do you want to give me your brother or something (laughs).
What were your early childhood dreams and when did you deviate from them?
I wanted to be a doctor, I went to a science school, took science subjects but I am the type of person that lose interest in things easily. Later, I changed, I said I want to be an Accountant, after graduating, I just felt like being on my own. So, I decided to go into acting. Acting is cool for me, you have time for yourself, it is even fun. I am investing because I know that the rainy day will come.
Would you like to do a plastic surgery one day to reduce your boobs?
I will do a plastic surgery maybe after having all my children and the breasts fall. Then if I am getting old and start having wrinkles, maybe I can consider it. I am comfortable with everything now, it is perfect. I love it the way it is.
A lot of things have been said about you, why do you think Cossy courts controversies?
Most people are fake, I am a very down to earth person. Most things they say about me is also fake, sometimes when they say something about me, I don’t even reply. I don’t have time for all the things they say and write, everybody is entitled to his or her opinion. I think that is why they say I am controversial, because I don’t really care, I don’t reply. People that like me like me, people that don’t like me will never love me.
What is the craziest thing a fun has ever done to you?
(Laughs) I was going somewhere, the guy just came, fiddled with my boobs and ran away.
