Super Eagles youngster, Alex Iwobi has said he has no regret choosing the Nigerian senior national team over England.

The 19-year old spoke during a live programme in Lagos, while reacting to the Three Lions’ memorable victory over world champions Germany in Berlin on Saturday.

The Arsenal midfielder said he was pleased with the cheers he got from the Nigerian fans when he came on as a substitute in his first competitive game for the Super Eagles in the 1-1 draw against Egypt at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on Friday evening.

He said: “It is an honour to represent my country and I hope to get more chance to feature.

“It was amazing the fans were happy to get up whenever I was on the ball and cheer.”

Iwobi is optimistic the current international teammates can get needed result at the home of their opponents on Tuesday.

“Hopefully I think the team has a lot of stars and a lot of players and I think we’ll definitely get a win,” he said.

The Pharaohs of Egypt host the Super Eagles on Tuesday March 29 at Alexandria.
