I Chose to Sing Reggae Music Because of Girls, Says Patoranking

Patoranking known for his Reggae style of music which has gained him fame and recognition has opened up why he chose the music genre.

The singer who is much sought after for his tunes has a wide reach of fans in Africa and beyond.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Patoranking who revealed that he has been a fan of reggae music since his childhood days as he istened to the likes of Lucky Dube and Bob Marley said he started the line of music because of girls.

He said: “One of the reasons I chose reggae even though it might sound funny is because of the girls.”

The singer continued: “I remember back then in secondary school, if you did not know how to mime songs, you could not get the girls and I like standing out. I thought it would be wise for me to mime the songs that my colleagues won’t know.

“I listened to more reggae songs. Whenever I did that, the girls were always impressed. I listened to a lot of Bob Marley and Lucky Dube’s songs.”
