Hajiya Dada Yar’adua, the mother of former Nigerian President Umaru Yar’adua and former Vice President Shehu Yar’adua, is dead, Okay.ng reports.

The digital news platform gathered that she died at the Katsina Teaching Hospital on Monday evening.

Hajiya Dada Yar’adua was a respected figure known for her strong character and the significant influence she had on her sons’ lives and careers.

Her son, Umaru Musa Yar’adua, served as Nigeria’s President from 2007 until his death in 2010, while her other son, Shehu Yar’adua, was a former Vice President and a prominent political leader in the country.

The news of her death has led to a wave of condolences from across Nigeria, with many politicians, public figures, and citizens paying tribute to her legacy and the role she played in shaping the lives of her sons.

Hajiya Dada is expected to be buried in Katsina in accordance with Islamic rites.
