Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has directed the Commissioner for Finance, Dr Fred Kpakol to ensure civil servants in the state receive their December salaries before Christmas.

Kpakol said the governor also directed the banks to ensure that civil servants get their salaries before the Christmas celebration.

“We have taken our vouchers to the banks and we have directed banks to ensure that salaries get to all the civil servants before Christmas.

“Governor Wike is interested in the welfare of civil servants and pensioners in the state, hence, the prompt payment”, he said.
