Governor Okorocha Dismisses 13 Commissioners, Advisers

Imo state Governor Rochas Okorocha has dismissed 13 commissioners and key aides who are contesting elective positions on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

This was made known by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, who said that Okorocha wanted them to focus on their political chances ahead of the party’s primaries for the 2019 elections.

Among those who have been disengaged are Secretary to the state government, George Eche, his chief of staff, Uche Nwosu, deputy chief of staff, Kingsley Uju, and his principal secretary, Paschal Obi.

Also affected are Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Commerce, Emma Ojinero, his counterpart in the Ministry of Information, Prof. Nnamdi Obiaraeri, and Commissioner for Gender and Social Development, Ngozi Njoku.

Others include Joy Mbawuike, Commissioner for Market Development, Obinna Mbata, Commissioner for Finance, Dan Nworie, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Simeon Iwunze, Special Adviser,Urban Renewal,Obinna Amagwula, Special Assistant General Duties and Betty Uzoma, Special Assistant Finance.
