He also gave an assurance of his administration’s commitment toward staff training and workshops.

Obiano made the promise on Tuesday in Awka during a visit to the Anambra Local Government Service Commission.

“We are committed to transforming the local government system to greater heights through effective and efficient staff training and workshops.

“Regrettably, most members of staff lacked knowledge about the policy direction of the government.

“ I am urging the commission to pass the information down to the grassroots for proper inclusion in my administration,” he said.

Dr Peter Egenti, the Chairman of the commission, commended the leadership style of the governor and his development strides.

“The leadership style of the governor is worthy of emulation; also, the administration’s strides are geared toward ensuring sustainable development of the grassroots.

“We are faced with lean finances, inadequate infrastructure, dilapidating structures, need for recruitment of workers, lack of adequate and steady power supply among others,” he said.

“In spite of the present hardship in the country, the Anambra governor is among the few that pays workers salaries as at when due,” he said.
