Gov. El-Rufai Appoints Dahiru Sani As Economic Adviser

Governor Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai has approved the appointment of Dr. Dahiru Sani as Economic Adviser to the Commissioner Budget and Planning.

The appointment comes as the Ministry continues its preparation to transit to a Planning and Budget Commission. Dr. Sani will be responsible for the creation of an Economic Intelligence Unit in the Kaduna Ministry of Budget and Planning.

Dr. Sani was educated in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where he earned a B. Sc. and M. Sc. in Business Administration and the Swiss Management Center at the Universidad Central De Nicaragua where he got his Ph.D in Finance.

A seasoned policy development expert, Dr. Sani was co-founder in 2003 of the Kaduna Business School and its rector ever since. Dahiru Sani also worked in the banking sector with Intercity bank (now part of Unity Bank Plc) and Continental Trust Bank (now part of the United Bank for Africa (UBA)) as a banking executive and senior associate, respectively. In Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited, between 1991-1996, Dr. Sani was a management accountant.

From 2003, Dr. Sani has built an impressive resume as a strategy consultant for various government and private organisations and programmes. Dr. Sani has,in his portfolio as a strategy consultant,clientele which include DFID projects (ENABLE and GEMS 3), the World Bank, NEPAD Nigeria, PHCN, DICON, Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company, the Kaduna State Government and the Federal Ministry of Trades and Investment and SURE-P.

Dr. Sani holds Membership in the National Council for Management Development (Accredited Management Trainer), Accredited by the European Business Competence License (EBC*L, Vienna), and a Member of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP, USA). Dr. Sani also holds a number of advance management certifications from institutions including Harvard Business School (Making Markets Work); Learning Skills Network, London (Coaching and Mentoring Certificate) and the International Finance Corporation (Business Edge Certification).

An expert speaker of English, French and Hausa, Dr. Dahiru Sani was born in Kaduna in 1969.
