Nigerian Network operator Globacom has given out NGN 27.5 billion worth of bonus airtime to its customers in the last two months in its Glo Overload Reloaded promotion. The Glo Overload promo was introduced late last year and was in re-launched as Glo Overload Reloaded in January, with an expanded 400 percent bonus airtime for every recharge of NGN 200 and above, up from 200 percent. Over 7 million subscribers had signed up to the promotion by February.

Under the Glo Overload Reloaded promo, a subscriber who recharges by NGN 200 receives a total value of NGN 1000 automatically, which is five times the value of recharge. Any airtime recharge of NGN 500 gives the subscriber NGN 2,500 of airtime value; NGN 1000 provides NGN 5000, NGN 2,000 supplies NGN 10,000 and NGN 5000 delivers NGN 25,000.

The customer’s main credit can be used to call any network at any time of the day, while the bonus airtime can be used for on-net calls and SMS between 22:00 hrs and 08:00 hrs, depending on the validity period of the recharge denomination, ranging from two to fifteen days.

The bonus is also extended to the operator’s data subscribers. For instance, a subscriber who spends NGN 2,500 on a data plan subscription or renewal automatically gets 4.5 GB worth of data. NGN 5000 gives the subscriber 12 GB of data, and NGN 8,000 provides 24 GB. Subscribers on the Glo Overload Reloaded Promo platform will have a chance to become one of the 120 millionaires that the promotion will produce.
