The farmland belonging to former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu Falae, has again been invaded by Fulani herdsmen, who grazed their flock in his farm in Ilado in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

This was coming barely two weeks after some kidnappers suspected to be herdsmen released him after four days in their custody after ransom was allegedly paid to secure the release.

The Farm Manager of Chief Falae’s farm, Mr. Bruno Akhigbodemen, who conducted reporters round the farm Wednesday, said over one kilometre of maize was destroyed during the invasion last Sunday night.

Akhigbodemen told newsmen that the herdsmen arrived the farm at about 2am to cause the havoc.

He pointed out that the workers’ effort to prevent the destruction of the farmland were rebuffed as they were threatened by the herdsmen.

Akhigbodemen said that the former SGF has reported the latest destruction of his farmland to the state Police Command.

The Farm Manger, who was one of the staff attacked when the suspected kidnappers came a forthright ago, said some detectives from the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) were immediately deployed to the farm on Monday following the complaint of Chief Falae.

They reportedly combed the neighbouring villages for the suspects but they were unable to make any arrest.
