Former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, Debunks Death Rumors

General Yakubu Gowon, former Head of State of Nigeria, has debunked rumors of his death, stating that he is alive and well.

This clarification was made by his Personal Aide, Adeyeye E. Ajayi mni, who affirmed that General Gowon is in good health and not in any rush.

He said: “I am still around and well. I am not in a hurry”

The rumor of General Gowon’s death had circulated on social media, causing concerns among Nigerians.

However, Mr. Ajayi’s statement aimed to quell these unfounded speculations and reassure the public that the former Head of State is very much alive.

General Yakubu Gowon led Nigeria from 1966 to 1975, during a crucial period in the country’s history, which included the Biafran War.

His administration played a significant role in uniting Nigeria after the civil conflict.
