Francisca Owumi, a former star of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show, has died after a brief illness.

The reality TV personality, who was the runner-up in the first edition of the BBNaija show in 2006, died on August 29, 2024.

The news of her passing was announced by her family through a statement on social media. The statement read, “A daughter and sister. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.”

Francisca Owumi captured the hearts of many during her time on BBNaija with her vibrant personality and fierce dancing moves.

She was a prominent figure in the first season of the reality show, sharing the spotlight with housemates such as Katung Aduwak, the winner of that season, as well as Gideon Okeke, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Maureen Osuji, and others.

Following her stint on the show, Francisca briefly ventured into the Nigerian music industry, releasing singles like “Diva” and “Gbadun You.”
