Justice Suleiman Belgore of the Federal Capital Territory High Court has granted former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, and his brother, Ahmad Abubakar Sirika, bail in the sum of N100 million each and two sureties. The sureties must own landed property in the Federal Capital Territory, and one of them must be a civil servant not below Grade Level 12.

The court also ordered the defendants not to travel outside Nigeria without the court’s permission. The Sirika brothers are facing a ten-count amended charge bordering on contract fraud to the tune of N19.4 billion, alongside their company, Enginos Nigeria Limited.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accused Sirika of conferring undue advantage on his brother and his company, Enginos Nigeria Limited, and awarding several contracts to the company without following due process.

The case has been adjourned to May 28 and 29 for trial.
