Former American Footballer Star Commits Suicide.

Adrian-Robinson-Jr-commits-suicide

A former American football star, Adrian Robinson Jr. has died after committing suicide by hanging.

Robinson who last played for played for  the Washington Redskins, died on Saturday, May 16, at age 25.

Though an initial report by TMZ reveal that he died after a shooting incident, but the Philadelphia Medical Examiner according to Us Weekly have confirmed that the death was a case of suicide by hanging.

His agency, Symmetry, on Sunday, May 17 revealed the news via their Twitter and Facebook account.

“It deeply saddens all of us to share with you that Adrian Robinson Jr. passed away last night at the age of 25. Adrian was a beloved father, son, brother, friend, and teammate,” the agency wrote in a statement.

“We ask that you please respect his family’s privacy during this difficult time, and especially keep his daughter Avery Marie in your prayers, thank you for all of your support and consideration.”

Robinson last played in an NFL game in 2013, with the Redskins.

A linebacker, Robinson also played for the San Diego Chargers, the Denver Broncos, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He was also a star athlete at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa.

Temple head coach Matt Rhule released a statement mourning the death of their former footballers.

“The Temple football program lost a friend, a brother, and a wonderful young man today,” Rhule said.

“Adrian Robinson was one of the greatest competitors I ever had the pleasure of coaching and I know he was an even better teammate. I first met Adrian as an 18-year-old high school senior. I was so proud to see him back at Temple this spring finishing his degree and being a loving father to his new daughter.

“He will always be a part of me and will always be a part of this program. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the Robinson family — his parents Terry and Adrian Sr., brother Averee and sister Aija, and his daughter Avery Marie.”
