First Bank of Nigeria Limited, the country’s premier financial institution and a leader in innovative financial solutions, has unveiled a groundbreaking addition to the banking sector with the launch of a Humanoid Robot.

This advanced robot, equipped with Video Banking and Artificial Intelligence (AI), marks the first of its kind in Nigeria’s financial services space.

The Humanoid Robot, resembling a friendly branch staff member, interacts with customers through conversations and a touch screen attached to its chest.

It offers a range of services, including addressing customer inquiries regarding cash deposits, withdrawals, and ATM cards.

Moreover, the robot assists with complaint management by enabling customers to log complaints via a QR code, with timely feedback generated in response.

One of the primary functions of the Humanoid Robot is to keep customers well-informed about the Bank. It disseminates updates on various topics, such as product launches and upgrades aimed at enhancing the customer experience and satisfaction.

With its diverse capabilities, the robot serves as a comprehensive resource for customers, managing their accounts and providing real-time information on Bank-related matters.

Dr. Adesola Adeduntan, the CEO of FirstBank Group, expressed his excitement about this initiative, emphasizing its significance in transforming the banking landscape in Nigeria.

He stated, “The addition of the Humanoid Robot to our state-of-the-art Digital Experience Centre signifies our commitment to innovation and our dedication to enhancing our customers’ lives in today’s rapidly evolving digital world. We remain steadfast in our unwavering dedication to providing unparalleled banking services, leaving no stone unturned in fulfilling our customers’ needs.”

The introduction of the Humanoid Robot is part of the phased implementation of First Bank’s Digital Experience Centre, a technologically advanced self-service branch that was inaugurated in December 2021.

This pioneering concept showcases the Bank’s emphasis on digital transformation and customer-centric solutions.

In line with this vision, another Humanoid Robot will soon be deployed at the Bank’s upcoming Digital Experience Centre, set to be announced in the coming months.
