The FIFPRO Men’s World XI for 2024 has been revealed, marking the first time in history that neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo feature on the prestigious list.

The team was selected by over 28,000 professional footballers worldwide and was announced to the public on Monday.

The lineup, arranged in a 3-4-3 formation, highlights the dominance of Real Madrid, with six players making the cut, while Manchester City boasts four representatives.

Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) each have one player included.

Here is the 2024 FIFPRO World XI:

  • Goalkeeper:
    • Ederson (Manchester City)
  • Defenders:
    • Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid)
    • Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
    • Antonio Rüdiger (Real Madrid)
  • Midfielders:
    • Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)
    • Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
    • Toni Kroos (Real Madrid)
    • Rodri (Manchester City)
  • Forwards:
    • Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
    • Kylian Mbappé (PSG/Real Madrid)
    • Vinícius Júnior (Real Madrid)

The absence of Messi and Ronaldo signifies a shift in global football, as younger players and emerging stars take center stage.

Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland continue to solidify their positions as key figures in the modern game, while veterans like Toni Kroos and Kevin De Bruyne maintain their spots for consistent performances.
