The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) believes the men’s national team, which is currently getting ready for the Afrobasket Championship slated to dunk off in Senegal and Tunisia on Friday, will retain their title.

The defending champions tutored by Alex Nwora are expected to depart for Tunisia today.Speaking with The Guardian yesterday, NBBF Secretary, Chimezie Asiegbu revealed that all logistics needed for the success of the team have been put in place, adding that the players and officials, who have been training for the championship, are hungry to re-enact the feat achieved by their female counterparts recently in Mali.

“The coaches have been trying their best to blend the team. With God on our side, D’Tigers win the African championship to compliment the female victory,” he said. The D’ Tigers are drawn alongside Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and Democratic Republic of Congo in Group A of the 2017 Men’s Afrobasket Championship.
