The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively. This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Tuesday.

In his message to Christians on this occasion, Dr Tunji-Ojo emphasized the significance of embodying the virtues of sacrifice and love exemplified by Jesus Christ’s death for humanity’s redemption. He urged Nigerians to utilize the holiday period for prayers aimed at fostering peace, unity, and stability within the nation.
