In a candid assessment of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) future, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has warned that the party is on the brink of becoming a “political carcass” unless urgent and comprehensive measures are taken. Speaking during a visit to President Bola Tinubu’s Ikoyi residence on Monday night, Fayose stressed the importance of swift reforms to rejuvenate the opposition party’s waning influence.

While acknowledging his past criticisms of Nigerian administrations, Fayose commended the current government’s efforts, noting that stabilizing the economy and currency is a significant achievement. “There’s a clear difference between total change and steady stabilization,” he remarked.

Fayose reiterated his steadfast loyalty to the PDP, dismissing rumors of defection to the APC. “I will never leave the PDP for any other party,” he affirmed. He also praised Ekiti State’s Governor Abiodun Oyebanji for his exemplary leadership, highlighting the unity among former governors in supporting him.
