Fayose Running From His Shadows – Aluko

Temitope-Aluko

Embattled Secretary of the Ekiti State Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Tope Aluko, has said that Governor Ayodele Fayose was only running away from his shadows over his recent outburst and alleged confessions on the rigging of the June 21, 2014 gubernatorial elections in the state.

Aluko had stirred the hornet net when he alleged that Fayose got a total of $37m to use the military to rig the said election which returned him (Fayose) as Governor of the state.

Consequently, several developments have followed his outburst which include the alleged invasion of the House of Assembly by men of the Directorate of State Security Services and arrest of some lawmakers who were detained for days and recently released. There was also yesterday’s allegation by the state government that policemen from Abuja were in the state to arrest 11 lawmakers and some top government functionaries at the instance of APC members in the state.

Speaking to reporters at the Correspondents’ chapel yesterday, Aluko who disclosed that he remains a member of the PDP and secretary of the party in Ekiti, said: “The APC has been petitioning me and it came as a rude shock to me when the government (Ekiti state government) said that I’m Judas, they are the Judas anyway, because they betrayed me. I am still a member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party. It is APC that is petitioning me over this issue I trashed out on channels television recently. They petitioned me, and I have stayed 12 days with the DSS, five days with the police and five days with the the EFCC . So I’m actually on bail from these security operatives.

”During the interrogations, they asked me so many questions and as truthful as I can be, I gave them the answers, because I said I wanted to do restitution and that is what I’ve done. So if Lere is now saying that somebody is a Judas. It is Lere that is the Judas. I know what transpired between me and Lere but I won’t say it here, and Governor Fayose, if he is running away from his shadows, that is his problem.

”The security operatives invited me and I went, they did not maltreat me and I don’t know if they would still charge me to court, but I’m actually on bail from the security agencies and my mind is free. I don’t know if they will still invite me tomorrow. I have said all I have to say on Channels Television and my mind is free. I’m not afraid and if any agency invites me, I will go.

“But if Fayose is now saying all these things… I worked for him, we did everything together, he cannot deny it. And if he is now talking about glorifying somebody and calling me Judas, they are the Judas. Ekiti APC and the party’s national body petitioned me on what I said on Channels Televsion.“
