After a brief period of global outage, Facebook and Instagram, the popular social media platforms, are back online and accessible to users.

The interruption, which occurred on Tuesday, left millions of users unable to access their accounts. Users across the globe took to various platforms to express their frustration over the sudden shutdown.

On Twitter, users shared their experiences and concerns. Peace Ighodaro (@peace_igho) questioned, “Who logged us out of Facebook ooo,” while Lidia Curanaj (@LidiaNews) from New York simply stated, “Facebook and Instagram down.” Social media influencer @RealRazziebinx from the Philippines humorously speculated, “Is it just me or Facebook logged me out? I guess the world is ending.. see you guys.”

Others, like @RaphealMiguel, expressed relief upon realizing it was not a hacking incident but a platform-wide issue. Meanwhile, @Avviexo sought validation by asking, “Anyone else’s #Facebook logged out? Can’t log back in, keeps saying session expired or unexpected error?”

Nigeria Sports photojournalist @PoojaMedia empathized with fellow users, remarking, “Sessions of all Facebook accounts expired & everyone logged out. You have to log in again. Good luck if you still remember your passwords. ”

Popular X user @bod_republic echoed the sentiments of many, simply asking, “Facebook and Instagram down?”

Fortunately, the disruption was short-lived as both platforms swiftly restored their services. Users can now regain access to their accounts by logging in with their passwords as usual.
