Former Chelsea midfielder, Michael Essien has revealed why chelsea players likes Victor Moses, Danny Drinkwater and Andreas Christensen could leave Stamford Bridge during January transfer window.

The future of Moses, Drinkwater and Christensen at the West London club have been the subject of speculations due to lack of playing time since manager, Maurizio Sarri took over from former Blues boss, Antonio Conte.

In an interview with Express UK, Essien said: “Every player wants to play. Chelsea isn’t an easy place to come and the competition is very fierce.

”At the end of the day, all the players work but it’s the manager who will pick who he wants to play.

”When you’re not playing you get frustrated and you want to look elsewhere.

”It’s up to them [Moses, Drinkwater and Christensen] really but they have to keep working and then everyone gets their chance.”
