Yunusa-Handcuffed

Kayode Olaosebikan, the lawyer of Yunusa Dahiru, alleged abductor of 14-year-old Ese Rita Oruru, says his client is 18 years old and not 25 as claimed by his father, Dahiru Bala.

The lawyer made the correction during Yinusa’s arraignment before a Federal High Court in Yenegoa.

Bala in an earlier interview said, ”My son is 25, and I found it extremely necessary to stand by him at this moment of his travails despite his failure to accept my advice initially. Yunusa was a house help to Oruru’s family for 10 years and when he told me of his love relationship with Ese, I opposed him because we already had a bride for him in the village. When he called to say that he was on his way home with his love I informed him of the bride we had found for him”.

However, during Yunusa’s arraignment on Tuesday, his lawyer said, “We see the case as that of two love birds. It is case of Yunusa, an 18 year old boy in love with a 14 year old girl. They agreed to elope,” he said.
