Enyimba FC of Aba endured a heavy 3-0 loss to Black Bulls in their CAF Confederation Cup Group D clash at the Estádio Nacional do Zimpeto on Sunday.

The defeat leaves the Nigerian side winless in the competition and bottom of their group.

The match began on a promising note for the hosts, with Rume Akporoh heading in the opening goal from a corner in the 16th minute. Despite Enyimba’s efforts, the scoreline remained unchanged until the second half.

Another corner-kick proved costly for the Nigerian side in the 57th minute, as Fidel Suosa capitalized on a defensive lapse to double Black Bulls’ lead. The victory was sealed seven minutes later when Ayuba Francis, a Nigerian under-20 international, came off the bench to deliver a clinical finish.

The loss marks Enyimba’s second defeat in the group stage, leaving them with just one point after three matches. The team has now gone eight matches without a win in all competitions, a worrying trend for the Aba-based club.

Coach Yemi Olanrewaju’s side sits at the bottom of Group D, while Black Bulls moved to third place with four points, trailing Zamalek and Al-Masry, who face off in an Egyptian derby later tonight.

Enyimba will look to revive their continental campaign when they host Black Bulls in the reverse fixture on January 5 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
