Protesters in Jos, Plateau State, resumed their demonstration against bad governance and economic hardship for the second day on Friday, August 2, 2024. The protest, which started at 7 am, saw participants converge at the Old Airport Junction, singing, dancing, and displaying placards denouncing the plight of Nigerians.

Unlike the previous day, most shops in the state capital opened for business, and security operatives were seen monitoring the situation in strategic locations. Former Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung, joined the protest and expressed determination to continue until the Federal Government addresses their demands.

Dalung stated, “We gave the government a 40-day notice before the protest, but instead of addressing our concerns, they tried to prevent the protest. Nigerians have resisted their attempts and will continue to demand change.” The protest remains peaceful, with participants vowing to sustain their efforts until their voices are heard.
