In a surprising development from Ekiti State, Mr. Wale Ade-Oba, a member of the Ekiti State Waste Management Board, has tendered his resignation, openly criticizing Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration for underperformance and lack of progress. Ade-Oba’s decision was announced in a detailed statement where he also declared his support for the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Mr. Kayode Ojo, whom he described as a visionary leader capable of transforming Ekiti State.

Ade-Oba expressed deep dissatisfaction with the current government’s handling of development projects, particularly highlighting the neglect of local government areas such as his own, Irepodun/Ifelodun. He lamented the sidelining of loyal party members, accusing the administration of appointing opposition figures to key positions despite their lack of contribution to the party’s electoral success.

“The governor is often out of the state, pursuing unclear agendas, and this absence is felt in the lack of productivity under the present administration,” Ade-Oba said. He emphasized that this pattern of governance has led to stagnation and a failure to deliver meaningful development to the people of Ekiti.

In his statement, Ade-Oba made a passionate call for change, endorsing Engr. Kayode Ojo’s leadership style and vision, which he believes will prioritize the needs of the people and recognize the efforts of committed party members. “I am making this change because I want to be part of a government that truly serves the people of Ekiti and values the contributions of its loyal supporters,” he declared.
