Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently shared heartfelt insights into his relationship with his wife, Chioma Adeleke, revealing the significance of their connection before his rise to stardom.

In a candid interview, Davido disclosed the circumstances surrounding his meeting with Chioma, highlighting the pivotal role she played in his life before attaining wealth and fame as a superstar.

The celebrated artist expressed gratitude for encountering Chioma during a phase of his life when material success was yet to manifest fully.

Davido emphasized the importance of meeting Chioma before achieving fame, suggesting that their relationship might have been more complicated if formed at a later stage of his career.

Davido underscored the challenge of discerning genuine intentions in potential relationships post-fame, expressing relief in having found love with Chioma before his ascent to stardom.

He reflected on the difficulty of navigating romantic relationships amidst newfound wealth, suspecting that individuals might be drawn to him solely for his financial status.

The music icon also emphasized the value he places on maintaining a close-knit circle of friends and associates who have been part of his journey since the early days.

Davido shared his belief that true success lies in preserving relationships with those who supported him before fame, rather than pursuing new connections solely based on his celebrity status.

In his own words, Davido stated, “I have a friend, anytime I am on the phone with my wife, he would say he has everything in the world, but a wife is what he is missing. I met my wife before I had money, but I was telling myself if I didn’t meet her before then and now I am single, and I meet a girl, it wouldn’t be the same. I would feel the lady is talking to me because I am Davido and I have money.”

He continued, “My own success is when I see people around who were there when I had nothing and they see me now, that’s the feeling, not like when you blow up and start hanging out with a new set of people. You need to keep the people that were there with you since grinding.”
