Nigerian music heavyweights Davido and Burna Boy faced disappointment at the 66th Grammy Awards, failing to secure wins in any of their respective categories despite multiple nominations.

Davido, a first-time Grammy nominee, was vying for wins in three categories: ‘Best Global Album’ for his acclaimed album ‘Timeless,’ ‘Best African Performance’ for his song ‘Unavailable,’ and ‘Best Global Music Performance’ for his track ‘Feel.’

However, the celebrated artist fell short in all categories.

In the ‘Best African Music’ category, Davido lost out to Tyla’s ‘Water,’ while ‘Pashto’ by Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer & Zakir Hussain featuring Rakesh Chaurasia clinched the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ award.

The ‘Best Global Album’ honor went to Shakti’s ‘The Moment,’ leaving Davido without a Grammy win this year.

Similarly, Burna Boy, who received nominations in four categories—’Best Melodic Rap,’ ‘Best Global Music Album,’ ‘Best Global Music Performance,’ and ‘Best African Music Performance’—also missed out on securing any wins.
