Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) and its subsidiaries have revealed their extensive plans for the upcoming Sustainability Week, scheduled to run from Monday, 23rd to Friday, 27th October 2023.

Under the theme “Sustainable Production and Consumption – The Dangote Way,” the week is expected to be a vibrant showcase of the organization’s commitment to fostering sustainable practices within its operations and communities.

The week-long event aims to provide DIL and its subsidiaries’ employees with a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful community initiatives, facilitated by the company’s provision of paid time for volunteering services.

The highlight of the week will be an online Sustainability Conference hosted by DIL, featuring innovative presentations from various business unit representatives.

These presentations will focus on opportunities for sustainable production and consumption, all of which will be evaluated by a panel of executives for potential adoption.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, the week’s activities will kick off with volunteer mobilization across DIL’s business locations in Nigeria and Pan Africa.

On Tuesday, Dangote Cement will host a Sustainable Living Fair and Exhibition in Ikoyi, Lagos, inaugurated by the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mr. Arvind Pathak. NASCON will contribute to education by donating whiteboards to local schools, while Dangote Fertilizer Limited (DFL) will embark on a community development initiative to roof classrooms in the Magbonsegun community.

Further initiatives include an elderly care program organized by Dangote Petroleum Refinery, featuring health talks and medical screenings for common ailments. GDNL will conduct educational campaigns in local schools, emphasizing sustainability and climate change awareness, coupled with equipment donations. DPL will focus on empowering women through practical skills training and education.
