Dangote Assures Kano Fire Victims Of Financial Support

The Chairman Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, assures victims of the fire incidences in Kano , a financial succour courtesy of the Fund Raising Committee inaugurated by Kano government to be chaired by Alhaji Aliko Dangote.

Speaking during the inauguration of the committee held at Government House, Kano, Aliko Dangote disclosed that the recent fire incidence at Sabon Gari market, Kano GSM market, Kano Kwari market and Singer Kano market are tragedies that required greater financial support for the victims to restart.

In his usual humidity, Africa’s richest man who is an indigene of the state, described the current situation in the whole of the country as difficult considering financial and economic crisis that rocked all parts of human endeavors.

Dangote promised the Kano governor that the committee under his leadership will not relent in its effort to raise enough funds through consultations with business colleagues, banking experts and from elected officials across the nation.

He requested for the establishment of a recognised bank account and for the Kano governor to continue to give his words to fellow governors to donate generously.

In his earlier remarks, Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje implored the committee members to do all what they could in securing donations for the victims who deserve support from all.

Governor Ganduje explained that the State government has discovered 7000 shops and paid N10000 per each for the affected traders to continue their business before major support arrived.

Kano governor disclosed that an evacuation of the debris has begun at Sabon Gari market, saying Sabon Gari market fire was the mother of all fires in the history of Kano.

He described Sabon Gari market as not belonging to the people of Kano or Nigeria alone, but to the entire West Africa.

The fund raising committee has Alhaji Aliko Dangote as Chairman, members are Bashir Tofa,

Tajuddeen Dantata, Dahiru Mangal, Senator Kabiru Gaya, AA Rano, Alhaji Sayyu Dantata, Mr. Lee.
