Court Remands Wife Of Ex-PDP Chairman’s Son In Abuja Prison

Maryam Sanda, wife of Bilyaminu Muhammad Bello, deceased son of ex-PDP chairman Haliru Mohammed Bello, has been remanded in Suleja Prison.

Maryam was remanded by an Abuja high court on Friday after her lawyer entered a non guilty plea to the allegations that she was responsible for her husband’s death.

The woman was charged after reports emerged that she stabbed her husband, Bilyaminu, to death on Sunday.

It was learnt that her lawyer entered a not guilty plea and attempted to ask for bail, when the judge turned down her request, insisting that she would be released after the police have concluded their investigation.

Bilyaminu reportedly died after he was stabbed by his wife, Maryam, in his Maitama home, Wuse Abuja on Sunday night.

Maryam who is the daughter of Maimuna Aliyu, a former Aso Saving Bank executive, allegedly stabbed him severally over allegations of infidelity.

Maryam and Bilyaminu have a daughter who is below one year.

He was previously married to his first wife who he divorced to be with her.
