Nnamdi KanuJustice Binta Nyako of an Abuja Federal High Court has fixed December 1 for ruling on the bail application of the Director of Radio Biafra.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and three others were on November 8 re-arraigned by the Federal Government on an 11-count bordering on treasonable felony, managing an unlawful society, publication of defamatory matter, illegal possession of firearms and improper importation of goods.

Others re-arraigned with the IPOB leader include, the National Coordinator of IPOB member, Mr. Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi.

The trial judge fixed the date for ruling after counsels to all accused persons argued their separate bail applications which were opposed by the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Shuaibu Labaran.

Earlier, counsels to the accused person, prayed the court to dismiss the counter-affidavit the prosecution filed against their clients.

They dismissed the concern raised by the prosecution that their clients would constitute a threat to national security if released on bail.

One of the defence lawyers, E.I. Efeme said, “The prosecution has the duties to give the particulars of how the defendants would constitute national security.

“These documents (provided by the prosecution) do not show such.

Other lawyers who represented the Biafra agitators include, Ifeanyi Ejiofor (for Kanu); Mr. I. Adoga (for Onwudiwe); and Mr. Maxwell Okpara (for Nwaiwusi).
