The Federal High Court, sitting in Kano State has ordered the Kano State Government to pay a fine of ₦10 million for violating the rights of deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero. This development comes after the court declared that Bayero has jurisdiction to be heard in the ongoing emirate tussle.

Justice Liman Mohammed delivered the judgement in a case filed by Aminu Baba Dan Agundi, a kingmaker, on behalf of Bayero. The court’s decision is a significant milestone in the ongoing legal battle surrounding the emirate.

In a related development, a Kano State High Court has ordered substituted service on Bayero and four other emirs in a case filed by the Kano State Government to restrain them from parading themselves as emirs.

The emirate tussle has been ongoing for some time, with various legal battles and court orders. This latest development is a significant blow to the Kano State Government, which has been attempting to assert its authority over the emirate.
