The head coach of the Nigerian football team, Jose Peseiro, has openly expressed his admiration for Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, emphasizing the player’s special and crucial role in the team as they prepare to face Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.

Despite not featuring in any of Nigeria’s matches during the AFCON tournament, Musa’s impact off the pitch has not gone unnoticed by Coach Peseiro.

Musa has been instrumental in the team, not only as a captain but also in the role of a coach, offering valuable insights and support to the coaching staff.

During a pre-match press conference, Peseiro acknowledged Musa’s significance, describing him as special and important to the team.

He went on to reveal that Musa acts as his assistant, providing advice and the necessary support.

“Ahmed Musa is special and important to the team,” Peseiro stated.

“He is my assistant. He advises me, and he gives me the necessary support. He is committed in his role, and he can play. We shall wait and see tomorrow, but we want to win the AFCON for Musa to lift the trophy.”
