Chrisland High School, Opebi has been granted permission by the Lagos State Ministry of Education to reopen its doors to students in terminal classes.

This comes after the school was closed following the death of 12-year-old Whitney Adedina, who allegedly died from electrocution during an inter-house sports event at Agege Stadium in February.

The Assistant Director of the State Ministry of Education, Ganiu Lawal, announced the decision in a statement signed on Monday.

The Education Commissioner, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, revealed that the school will remain closed until all necessary judicial processes and ongoing administrative inquests are completed.

However, Mrs. Adefisayo disclosed that the temporary permission to reopen the school is only for JSS3 and SS3 students who are preparing for their terminal examinations.

“The Ministry, with the support of the Lagos State Joint Task Force, will continue to engage with Whitney Adeniran’s family,” she added.
