The Love PlaylistRoselyn, Timi and ChiomaThe Hero of the ShowThe Voice Nigeria

On this episode of the Knockouts, 12 talents from Team Praiz take centre stage for a chance to compete at the Battles. During the Blind Auditions, Coach Praiz appeared to procure the most promising talents to build his formidable team. Viewers were therefore expectant to see the work that Praiz had done with these talents and more so excited to watch them perform. The talents are: Chioma, Aderemi, John, Roselyn, Tolani, Euphoriq, Temitope, Henry, Benjamin, Salem, Timi and Nicole. Catch up on last week here.

The Love Playlist

Let’s begin with a dose of nostalgia. Euphoriq Asangusung delivered a heavy dose of nostalgia to viewers when he performed “Am I Still That Special Man” by P-Square. The song choice which dates back to 2011, brought back memories of love and life happenings to all who watched Euphoriq perform.

Temitope stoked more of that nostalgia flame when she sang “Again” by Wande Coal. Delivering the song with flare and femininity, Temitope “again” proved why she deserved to be on the show.

I love how you play different roles with your Voice.

Waje

The night was further embellished with love songs and soulful singing from John Akpos. The talented singer took the night to even greater heights, with his inspiring notes and registers as he performed “Eye Adaba” by Asa. The best was yet to come from these extraordinary vocalists when Benjamin Ayemere took centre stage. Benjamin sang the multiple award-winning “Best Part” by Daniel Caesar and H.E.R and delivered a beautiful melody in a coordination of riffs, runs and noteworthy falsettos. Commending the singer for a job well-done, Coach Waje commented on the singer’s vocal dexterity.

Roselyn, Timi and Chioma

Vocal powerhouses Roselyn Asuquo and Timi Osigwe also delivered incredible renditions. Timi’s audacious rendition of “Respect” by Aretha Franklin was impressive to Coach Praiz but not enough to be instantaneously decided on. Wasting no time at all, Waje made an intriguing “steal” for the talent before she exited the stage. Roselyn Asuquo performed “I have Nothing” by Whitney Houston and proved her mettle with a Strong start and Bold Finish to keep her in the competition.

Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us!

Niyola

The most electrifying performance of the night was delivered by Chioma Unogu. The spirited singer delivered a no-holds barred, soul-lifting and personalized rendition of “Excess Love” by Mercy Chinwo. Chioma’s performance was certified by a rousing applause and chants from the audience.

The Hero of the Show

Henry Deekor delivered arguably the most raved about performance of the night singing “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias. The singer who dedicated the song to his mum seemed to capture more hearts than intended when he sang to Coach Waje. One of the sweetest things you will find on the internet today.

Vocal powerhouse, Aderemi Adeniyi also sang in dedication to his California Queen in his version of “California King Bed” by Rihanna. Aderemi whose voice was a little affected, delivered his best to secure a slot on the Battles. Fellow competitor, Peter Salem suffered a similar difficulty with his voice but was not as lucky to make it through. In addition, Tolani did not proceed to the next round after she performed “Dangerous Woman” by Ariane Grande. It wasn’t all gloom for Team Praiz as ‘damsel’ Nicole was rescued from the Danger Zone by ‘Super’ C. Nicole who sang “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus was stolen by Naeto C in an unforeseen turn of events for her coach. Recall Coach Naeto C’s admiration for Nicole at the Blind Auditions?

At the end of the night, Roselyn, John, Deekor, Benjamin, Temitope, Aderemi and Chioma made it to the Battles. Timi and Nicole were stolen by Coaches Waje and Niyola – to secure a spot on the Battles Round. Sadly, Tolani, Euphoriq and Peter Salem bade their farewell.

The Voice Nigeria

In a charge to his members who failed to make the cut, Coach Praiz highlighted the advantageous sides to participating on a reality TV show as The Voice Nigeria. In his words: “This is an amazing platform. Please use it to your advantage”.
