Children’s Day: Education Will Be Our Main Focus – Aisha Buhari

The wife of the President-elect, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has assured Nigerians of the incoming government’s commitment to the development of children in the country.

Buhari, in a statement issued on Tuesday and made available to LEADERSHIP, to mark this year’s International Children’s Day today, said education will be focus of the incomimg All Progressives Congress-led government under her husband.

“Education is going to be the main focus of the incoming APC government. Our children are our future and education of our children is the best way to secure the future of our country,” she added.

Mrs Buhari also called for the speedy implementation of the Child Rights Act, which has been passed by the National Assembly but yet to be adopted by several states across the country.

The wife of the President-elect however assured Nigerians that, the menace of insecurity in some parts of the country will soon be curtailed especially in the North-East zone, saying that children will be encouraged  to return to school and schools will be make safer.

The statement added that Mrs Buhari extends her best wishes to children all over the country with specially reference to the less privileged ones.
