President Bola Tinubu has expressed commendation for Jim Obazee as he wraps up his investigation into the activities of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and its related entities.

In July 2023, President Tinubu appointed Jim Obazee, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN), as a special investigator tasked with probing the operations of the CBN and associated bodies.

Tinubu had tasked Obazee with conducting a comprehensive examination of public wealth held by individuals and establishments involved in corrupt practices.

Following months of rigorous investigation, Obazee’s team submitted a detailed report titled “Report of the Special Investigation on CBN and Related Entities (Chargeable Offences)” to President Bola Tinubu on December 22, 2023.

The report shed light on fraudulent activities and malfeasance within Nigeria’s apex bank.

In a statement issued on Friday, President Tinubu lauded Jim Obazee “for the dedication and professionalism he exercised in handling the complexities of this critical national assignment”.
